Jon Hul: An Artist Living The American Dream

Jon Hul is living the American dream. He has managed to become an American pinup artist with no former college training. Many people have enjoyed his work. He creates photo realistic paintings. He mostly draws models that have appeared in the “Playboy” magazine.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA in the year of 1957. Later, he grew up in California, Nevada. It was there that he attended Valley High School. He studied ceramics, oil painting, and commercial design. After he graduated high school in 1976, he did not go to college. He did not further his education in art. Instead, Jon Hul taught himself to play the drums. After he did this, he joined a funk band known as Soul Connection. He did this for a few years. He performed different gigs with the band for money.

In 1980, he was hired as an artist for the Boxing Hall of Fame project in Las Vegas. In 1987, he realized he needed to focus on becoming a full time artist and a father. This is when he decided to quit the band. In 1989, he began designing and illustrating art for bands and other private clients. By 1995, he was selling his art through Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Jon Hull has many influences, including Salvador Dali, Frank Fazetta, and Alberto Vagal. He has focused on these artists, and this is how he has learned to create perfect works of art. In 2006, he published “The Jon Hul Sketchbook Volume One”. So far, he has stuck to painting for magazines like “Heavy Metal”.

He also sells his art through Piece of Mind, Caesar’s Palace, and the Tamara Bane Gallery. Many people have enjoyed his work, although it is a little vulgar for some people. No matter how vulgar it is his art is beautiful. The women are beautiful. He has become a successful artist with no college education. He is able to prove that you can do anything if you truly set your mind and your hands to it.
